Greenpoint to acquire stake in Valpak

10.01.2012 −

The British compliance scheme and packaging recovery organisation Valpak has put forward a restructuring proposal. According to the proposal, Valpak's management team will own 70 per cent of the business while the remaining 30 per cent stake will be acquired by Greenpoint Holdings S.C.A. Greenpoint is the owner of the German packaging take-back and recovery organisation Duales System Deutschland GmbH (DSD). Details of the proposed transaction were sent to Valpak's members for agreement by 26 January.

"The business will remain focussed on UK compliance to the benefit of its existing members rather than being absorbed into a larger group", Valpak commented. Greenpoint has made a sum of GBP2 million available for investment in the future development of services and products in the UK as well as internationally.
