German post-consumer PET bottles' prices continue to decline

The prices continue to fall for post-consumer single-use PET bottles from deposit systems in Germany. Substantial price reductions were again possible in November. Depending on the initial price level, bales were selling for €20-90 less than in October. It was even more difficult to sell coloured bottles than clear bottles, said recyclers and suppliers. In many cases, recyclers were only accepting contracted volumes. Spot volumes were sellable only when they were offered at significantly lower prices, respondents said.
