Stable prices for used PET bottles in Germany
In December, a month with comparatively few working days, the prices in Germany for post-consumer single-use PET bottles from deposit systems were stable across the board. On occasion, recyclers were able to shave a few euro off purchase prices compared to November, according to the latest EUWID market report.
The seasonal decline in arisings is now being felt, but this has not yet had any effect on prices. Suppliers described the market as rather balanced in December. Some recyclers were reported to be well or even very well stocked. However, the purchasing situation is expected to deteriorate in the coming weeks, said some respondents.
The full report on the German market for post-consumer single-use PET bottles from deposit systems appears in EUWID Recycling and Waste Management 1/2013.
