Recovered paper prices held steady at high levels or rose slightly on the French market in July amid generally strong demand, somewhat brisker export business and limited collection quantities. While quite a few merchants reported that prices were unchanged compared with June, other merchants and a number of buyers reported mark-ups in the region of €10-20 per tonne. Business with overseas customers had strengthened again in July. At present, the market is still facing a shortage rather than a surplus of recovered paper.
