Alba SE increases 2021 revenues by nearly half thanks to high scrap metals prices

EBIT and post-tax earnings swing back to positive territory

German recycling and waste management group Alba SE booked a turnover of €377.6m last year. This was up by around 46 per cent, driven primarily by higher scrap prices, according to the group’s annual report. Thanks to a favourable market environment, consolidated earnings before interest and tax (Ebit) swung from a loss of €1.2m in 2020 to a positive Ebit of €13.4m last year. With that, Alba SE had beaten its original earnings forecast as well as the updated outlook it released during 2021.

After taxes, the group reported profit of €10.9m for 2021, as compared to a loss of €3.0m in the previous year. Overall, it was an excellent business year, the company said....
