Anton van Genuchten will step down from his leadership role at European Metal Recycling (EMR) on 31 May 2026. He has worked for the British ferrous and non-ferrous metals group since 2013 and played a key role in building its business across continental Europe during a period of significant change for global recycling and circular economy value chains, EMR announced today.
Mr Van Genuchten will continue to support the company during a transition period. EMR's CEO Chris Sheppard highlighted Mr Van Genuchten’s deep market knowledge, straightforward commercial judgement and genuine understanding of people and partnerships as qualities that had made a real difference to EMR over many years. The recycling group thanked the departing managing director of its continental European operations for his leadership, commitment and contribution and wished him every success for the future.
Mr Van Genuchten has spent more than 40 years working in the global commodity, recycling and energy sectors. His previous career positions include leadership roles at BP Oil and the recycling companies SHV, HKS, TSR and Reukema.
