B+T Group has started up a refuse-derived fuel (RDF) power plant in Chalampé in the French region of Alsace. Simultaneously, it also started supplying process steam to the Alsachimie chemical production plant. This enables Alsachimie, a 51/49 joint venture owned by BASF and Domo Chemicals, to significantly reduce the use of natural gas at the site, B+T announced this week.
