Bewi commissions new EPS recycling plant in Norway

Packaging and insulation manufacturer Bewi has opened its first recycling plant for expanded polystyrene (EPS) in Norway. The new facility is located at Bewi’s existing insulation plant in Fredrikstad, in southern Norway, and is intended to help close regional material loops.

The facility has an annual processing capacity of up to 3,500 tonnes of EPS waste, the company said. It will process both packaging and insulation waste, which will be granulated or mechanically processed and then reused as a raw material in production.
