Blue Alp, Renewi and Shell land €1.5m in funding for plastics recycling project

Together with Renewi, Shell and Utrecht University, recycling technology company Blue Alp has secured funding from the Dutch National Growth Fund for a research project aimed at upgrading mixed plastic waste. According to Blue Alp, €1.5m has been awarded for the four-year "Clean" project (Catalytic Low-temperature Efficiency for Advanced Decontamination).

The initiative centres on improving the removal of contaminants from mixed plastic waste streams. To this end, new technologies will be combined with aim of identifying the most effective points in the value chain for dewatering and decontamination while still considering cost and sustainability....
