Borealis has shelved plans to build a large-scale mechanical recycling plant for waste plastics at its Schwechat site outside of Vienna, Austria. The polyolefin producer told EUWID that an internal review had shown the facility would not be able to meet its performance targets under present market conditions. As a result, the project has been "put on hold until further notice". The plant had originally been due to come online in 2025 with a planned annual processing capacity of 60,000 tonnes. ...
