Carbios plans to resume construction at Longlaville before year-end

The French company Carbios has reaffirmed its plans to complete its first commercial-scale plant for the enzymatic recycling of PET waste in Longlaville in northern France. According to an announcement made last week, construction is set to resume before the end of the year. However, the resumption of construction remains dependent on the conclusion of additional financing agreements. If the necessary financing is secured, production of recycled PET could begin in the second half of 2027, according to the company. Work at the site has been on hold since the beginning of the year due to delays in the release of funding for the project.
