Lithuania's Plasta Group, which describes itself as one of Europe's largest polyethylene recyclers, has been taken over by Cedo. The transaction "strengthens Cedo’s position as the largest integrated circularity platform for flexible plastic films servicing Europe", the British company commented when the take-over was announced on Thursday.
The purchase price for Plasta Group was not disclosed. The company has its headquarters in Vilnius, Lithuania. It operates three recycling and manufacturing plants in the Baltic country and in Sweden via its subsidiary Rullpack, and has a distribution company in Germany.
Plasta Group puts the amount of post-consumer LDPE and LLDPE waste which it recycles at 45,000 tonnes per year. The input material originates from Northern and Western Europe and the Baltic region....
