Coolrec acquires German e-waste recycler RDE

The German e-waste recycling company RDE Rücknahmen Demontagen Elektronik-Recycling GmbH has been taken over by Coolrec, a subsidiary of Dutch waste management group Van Gansewinkel.

RDE, which is headquartered in Pulheim in the Cologne region and has a second site in Baumholder, generates annual turnover of €8m. The company’s 50 employees process around 20,000 tonnes of e-waste a year, which brings the total amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) processed annually by Coolrec in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany to 160,000, the new owner reported.
