Cory to explore sending CO2 from London EfW plants to Norwegian Northern Lights for storage

British waste company Cory and Northern Lights launched a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project with the signature of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in mid-May. Together the companies plan to explore the option of shipping carbon from Cory’s energy from waste operations on the River Thames in London to Northern Lights’ subsea carbon storage facilities in Norway.

In addition to helping Cory achieve its goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2040, the partners saw the project as a possible "blueprint for international carbon transportation and storage and the development of a global carbon trading market."...
