French group Derichebourg reported strong growth in sales and earnings in its environment and recycling division in the first half of the current business year, which started on 1 October 2021. The company benefited from higher ferrous and non-ferrous metal prices as well as from its acquisition of the scrap and metals recycler Ecore, which was completed in mid-December.
Turnover in the Environmental Services division soared by 70 per cent year on year, from €1.22bn to €2.07bn, according to the figures published in Paris on 25 May. In total, Derichebourg generated half-year revenue of €2.55bn, representing growth of 54 per cent.
CEO and Chairman Daniel Derichebourg emphasised the group’s ability to rapidly integrate new acquisitions, “as evidenced by Ecore’s impressive contribution to first-half results,” which amounted to pro forma rolling 12-month Ebitda of €559m.
