The start-up Xycle plans to begin operations at its first chemical recycling plant for mixed plastics in the Port of Rotterdam in the fourth quarter of 2026. Financing for the project has been secured through investments made by the chemicals concern Dow, the Dutch tank storage company Vopak and the financial investors ING, Invest-NL and Polestar Capital, the companies announced on Monday. This financing reportedly includes both equity and senior debt.
Once completed, the advanced recycling plant is to have a capacity of 21,000 tonnes per year. Dow has entered an off-take agreement for the circular feedstock produced at the Xycle plant, which it plans to use in the production of new plastics, the chemicals company said....
