Ecobat exits European lead business with sale of UK subsidiary

US battery producer and recycler Ecobat has completed its withdrawal from the European lead sector. Early last week, the company announced the sale of its British subsidiary Ecobat Resources UK (ERUK) to London-based investment firm Splitstone Capital. The deal covers a lead-acid battery recycling facility in Matlock, Derbyshire, and a lead sheet production plant in Welwyn Garden City, north of London.
