EGA inaugurates UAE recycling plant after war-related disruption

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has officially inaugurated its new aluminium recycling plant at Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates after commissioning resumed following an Iranian attack in late March.

The facility, which has a production capacity of 185,000 tonnes per year, is the largest aluminium recycling plant in the UAE, according to EGA. The plant began producing recycled aluminium in February, but final commissioning was interrupted after the Iranian attack on the Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi on 28 March damaged parts of EGA's Al Taweelah industrial complex.

In a separate statement, Panizzolo Recycling Systems said it had supplied the recycling line for ERA's Taweelah plant as one of the project's technology partners....
