ELVR: Recyclers welcome plastics provisions, urge focus on implementation

FEAD said the ELVR text adopted by the Parliament last week "delivers a robust and workable system to stimulate demand for high-quality recycled plastics".

 Following the European Parliament's approval of the End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation (ELVR), recycling and waste management associations have urged policymakers and industry to focus on implementation, investment and demand for recycled materials.

In separate statements issued after Thursday's plenary vote, Recycling Europe and FEAD, the European Waste Management Association, welcomed the legislation's adoption while highlighting a number of provisions they believe will strengthen demand for recyclates and support investment in recycling capacity. Both organisations stressed that the success of the Regulation will depend on how effectively it is implemented over the coming years....
