Funds managed by EQT and Blackstone Infrastructure have agreed to acquire Spanish waste management group Urbaser from Platinum Equity, bringing to a close a sales process that has been underway since late 2024. The two investors are each to hold 50 per cent of the company and jointly manage the business, said Urbaser's future owners. The transaction is still subject to customary conditions and approvals.
In a separate announcement, Platinum Equity put the value of the transaction at approximately €5.6bn. The company acquired Urbaser in October 2021 from China Tianying Inc. (CNTY) and its subsidiary Firion Investments for an enterprise value of approximately €3.5bn....
