EuPF welcomes planned exemption from PPWR reuse targets for pallet film and strapping

The plastic packaging industry has welcomed planned exemptions for pallet wraps and strapping made from plastic and other materials from a 100 per cent reuse target which is to apply from 2030 under the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) in certain applications. The European Commission presented a draft delegated act and the results of several studies to the Expert Group on Waste, a body made up of representatives of the member states, industry associations and environmental organisations, in the middle of last week.

The European Plastic Films (EuPF) sector group and the German Association for Plastics Packaging and Films (IK) consider the draft a positive step, but call for additional changes. ...
