The European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (Euric) published the results of a recent life-cycle assessment (LCA) last week, which weighs the relative impacts of textile reuse, recycling and production. This analysis, completed by Norion Consult, finds that reusing textiles has a much smaller environmental footprint than the production of new textiles.
The LCA, which was commissioned by Euric's textiles branch, concluded that reusing textiles generates considerable CO2 and water savings compared with the production of new clothes for all three types of t-shirts analysed....
