The European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (Euric) has elected its new leaders during general assemblies held in Brussels on 8 and 9 March. Olivier François, board member of French association Federec, is Euric’s new president. He will be supported by three vice-presidents, namely Thomas Braun (managing director of bvse, Germany), Alicia García-Franco (director general of FER, Spain) and Cinzia Vezzosi (longstanding executive of Italian association Assofermet and outgoing Euric President).

There were no changes at the top of Euric’s metal recycling branches. Susie Burrage (president of BMRA, UK) has been re-elected as president of the European Non-Ferrous Metal Trade and Recycling Branch (Eurometrec), and Thomas Papageorgiou from Anamet Recycling remains president of the European Ferrous Recovery & Recycling Branch (EFR). Euric’s European Recovered Paper Branch (ERPA) will continue to be led by Hans van de Nes (board member of FNOI, Netherlands). Euric’s mechanical tyre recycling branch will be led by Poul Steen Rasmussen from Danish company Genan. Mariska Boer (VHT, Netherlands) was re-elected as President of Euric Textiles. Sophie Sicard (Federec) was elected president of the European Plastics Recycling Branch.
