The European Parliament has approved the provisional agreement on the Regulation on circularity requirements for vehicle design and on management of end-of-life vehicles (ELVR), endorsing the compromise reached by Parliament and Council negotiators in trilogue talks late last year.
In a plenary vote held on Thursday, MEPs backed the compromise text with 437 in favour, 112 against and 20 abstentions, paving the way for the formal adoption of the legislation by the Council. Most of the opposition came from the Parliament's far-right groups, Europe of Sovereign Nations and Patriots for Europe, as well as non-attached members.
