A sharp increase in PET imports is jeopardising the competitiveness of the EU industry and its goal of improving the circular economy of plastics. The association Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) expects policymakers to ensure a level playing field for recyclers in Europe and businesses in third countries.
The EU Commission recently launched an anti-dumping investigation into certain imports of cheap PET from China.
