FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente has finalised its acquisition of competitor Urbaser's waste management affiliate in the United Kingdom, the company announced on Tuesday. The deal, which marks Urbaser's withdrawal from the British market, was initially announced in December 2023.
Urbaser had been active on the UK market since 1998, the Spanish conglomerate said in its own announcement of the transaction's closing. "The divestment of the activities in the United Kingdom represents another step in the execution of Urbaser’s strategy. Urbaser continues increasing its focus and investment in strategic countries, offering the best environmental solutions to its clients," the company said.
