Swiss commodities trading firm Glencore and UK battery producer Britishvolt are forming a joint venture for battery recycling. The new venture will establish a “world-leading eco-system for battery recycling in the UK,” the companies announced in February.
A new recycling plant capable of processing at least 10,000 tonnes of lithium-ion batteries a year will be built at the site of Glencore subsidiary Britannia Refined Metals (BRM), in Nortfleet near London.
