Green Dot is continuing to expand its plastics recycling activities across Europe with another acquisition. Following the recent takoever of France's RG Group, the company has now acquired Spanish LDPE recycler Anviplas, Green Dot announced. The acquisition is intended to strengthen the group's presence in southern Europe and help converters and brand owners meet future regulatory targets.
Green Dot said the transaction would also improve its ability to secure feedstock, optimise cross-border logistics and supply European-made recyclates at industrial scale. The integration also forms part of the group's strategy to build an interconnected recycling platform spanning Europe. Green Dot did not disclose the purchase price or any further details of the deal.
Anviplas is based in Catalonia and has an annual recycling capacity of 30,000 tonnes and specialises in recycling LDPE film. According to Green Dot, the company processes post-commercial and post-industrial films to produce high-quality recyclates. Founded in 1988, Anviplas brings more than 35 years of experience in LDPE recycling to the group. The facility in Navarcles, north of Barcelona, employs around 70 people.
CEO Laurent Auguste said the acquisition "marks another milestone" in the development of a strong European recycling infrastructure. He said Anviplas' decades of expertise in LDPE film recycling, combined with Green Dot's growing network, would help increase the availability of high-quality recyclates and support the transition to a circular economy. "Catalonia is an important industrial region, and we are committed to strengthening its role in Europe's circular plastics economy," Mr Augusts said.
With the addition of Anviplas, Green Dot's network now comprises six mechanical recycling plants for plastic waste, with the others located in Hörstel and Eisfeld in Germany, Piacenza in Italy and Tence and Saint-Pal-de-Mons in France. According to the company, the combined facilities have a total recycling capacity of 175,000 tonnes per year across all material streams. The portfolio covers the recycling of LDPE, HDPE and PP.
