Green Dot, the group behind Germany's Der Grüne Punkt packaging waste take-back system, has announced the acquisition of Italian plastic recycler Forplast. Based in Castell’Arquato in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, Forplast is a compounder of bottle-to-bottle rHDPE and recycled polypropylene (rPP) for use in applications such as pipes and conduits, plastic containers, crates, as well as bottles. The Green Dot group did not disclose the value of the transaction.
Within Italy, Green Dot already owns the sorting and recycling facilities of the Italian company Synextra, which it acquired via subsidiary Duales System Deutschland (DSD). At the start of December, it announced the founding of the company Green Dot Italy SpA, which will lead its activities at the national level....
