The Romanian environmental holding Green Group has entered the polyolefin recycling market. The company announced this week that it has taken over the recycling company UAB Ecso based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The purchase price was not disclosed. Green Group’s presence in the plastics recycling sector has been focused on PET so far.
According to Green Group, the acquisition of UAB Ecso "creates the platform for further expansion in this sector across the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region". The company reaffirmed its intention to invest between €150m and €200m over the next few years to "further consolidate its position as the largest integrated recycling group in CEE through capex investments and bolt-on acquisitions".
