GreenGroup raises €127m to finance expansion

Romania's Green Group plans to quadruple its recycled PET production capacity and almost double its recycling capacities for waste glass and e-scrap. In addition, the company plans to launch electrical motor recycling and refuse-derived fuel (RDF) production operations, according to its majority owner Abris Capital Partners.

The private equity investor reported that Green Group raised €127m to finance these expansion projects. "The financing will allow Green Group to build on the successful growth already delivered since Abris’ entry and accelerate its plans to scale up its operations across the region."

Green Group’s rPET capacity is to be quadrupled to 28,000 tonnes a year. The company’s recycling capacity for glass is to reach 150,000 tonnes, while its capacity for treating waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is to be expanded to 73,000 tonnes a year. In addition, Green Group plans to invest in "various ESG programmes including several photovoltaic projects", according to Abris Capital Partners....
