Heraeus subsidiary Revalyu to build chemical PET recycling plants in the US and India

Just last year, the German technology group Heraeus entered the chemical recycling business when it acquired a majority holding in a PET bottle recycling company. Last Friday, the concern announced that that new subsidiary, Revalyu Resources, now plans to build a chemical recycling facility in the US state of Georgia with an initial capacity of up to 100 tonnes per day of post-consumer bottles.Heraeus put the investment for the first phase of the project at $50m (ca. €46m). In the project's second phase, the plant's capacity is to be raised to 200 tonnes a day.

Earlier last week, the company announced the start of construction for an expansion of its site in India. The recycling facility located in Nashik, around 170 kilometres northeast of Mumbai, produces recycled PET and filament yarn from post-consumer PET bottles.
