German recycling and waste management company Interseroh SE recorded earnings before tax, interest and shares in associated companies (Ebit) of €27.3 million in the first half of 2011. For the same period in 2010, the Alba Group subsidiary had posted a profit of €36.7 million including deconsolidation income of ca. €11 million, according to the half-year report published by Interseroh on Thursday. The company's earnings before taxes (EBT) for the first six months of the current year stood at €20.6 million, down from €29.3 million in 2010.
Consolidated group sales increased from €967.7 million in the first half of last year to €1.193 billion in 2011. All segments contributed to the growth in turnover. However, only the steel and metals recycling division recorded higher earnings compared with the same period last year. Interseroh's services and raw materials trading divisions faced difficult market conditions and reported a decline in profits.
