Construction on the planned waste-to-energy plant near Rome began on 14 May. It is located in Santa Palomba, around 25 km south-west of the city.

One of Italy’s largest waste infrastructure projects has entered the construction phase, with work now under way on a new waste-to-energy (wte) plant near Rome. Swiss plant engineering company Kanadevia Inova said that work commenced on 14 May. The first waste deliveries are scheduled for autumn 2029. The City of Rome estimates the project's cost at around €946m....
