Turnover of the European waste management operations of Suez Environnement stood at €4.708bn in the first three quarters of the current year, falling 2 per cent short of the previous year’s level. This was due to factors including lower secondary raw material and service prices, declining electricity feed-in tariffs and changes in the consolidation scope, according to the group’s quarterly report published on Thursday.

Organic growth of the division, which comprises the Sita group among other subsidiaries, was also slightly negative, with turnover declining by 0.3 per cent excluding currency and consolidation scope effects. The only European area achieving positive organic growth was the UK / Scandinavia region with an increase in turnover of 1.7 per cent or €16m.
