Plastics manufacturer Lyondellbasell and 23 Oaks Investment GmbH signed an agreement creating a new joint venture in mid-October. The JV, Source One Plastics, is to build a sorting and pre-treatment plant for post-consumer plastics in Germany. This facility is to provide "a material part" of the feedstock for a new chemical recycling plant to be built at Lyondellbasell’s site in Wesseling, Germany. The final investment decision on the advanced recycling facility is scheduled for “the coming months” and is expected before the end of the year, a spokesperson of the plastics group confirmed. In addition, Lyondellbasell plans to set up a mechanical recycling plant for post-consumer waste plastics in China through a joint venture with local partner Genox Recycling....
