Development consent has been granted to the Boston Alternative Energy Facility (Baef) project, which includes plans for an energy from waste (EfW) plant with a processing capacity of around a million tonnes of refuse derived fuel (RDF) per year. According to the Planning Inspectorate, which issued the approval for the nationally significant project last week, the plant is to be located in Boston in Lincolnshire and have an electrical output of 80MW.
