The German utility company MVV has finalised financing for the construction of its Medworth waste to energy (wte) plant located near Wisbech in Cambridgeshire. The company, which already operates two wte plants and a biomass power plant in the UK, says the Medworth project will be the largest single investment in its history at around €500m.
The external debt financing for the project was structured in cooperation with KfW IPEX-Bank, which is responsible for project and export finance within the KfW Group, Germany's state-owned promotional bank. KfW IPEX-Bank is acting as sole lender, sole hedge provider and sole export credit agency (ECA) agent for the Medworth project....
