New contracts raise FCC's revenues and backlog

The Spanish FCC group reported increases in both revenue and Ebitda from its environmental operations in the first nine months of 2022. The company said that it had achieved revenue growth on its home market of Spain with new urban waste and street cleaning contracts, but that its environment business had also benefitted from exchange rate effects, particularly the surge in the value of the US dollar.

Across the business area, revenues for the first nine months of the year reached €2.69bn, 12 per cent more than in the prior-year period. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) from waste management operations rose by nearly 11 per cent to €428m as higher "by‐product prices" offset the increase in energy costs in the period, the company reported....
