(B, AUS) – The newly founded company Nyrstar SA has taken over the zinc and lead smelting and alloying assets of Belgium’s Umicore SA and Australia’s Zinifex Ltd as of 1 September. Nyrstar says that it is now the world’s largest zinc producer, with an output of over 1m tonnes of zinc and zinc alloys in 2006. ...
