US-based Paladin Envirotech has acquired the Irish recycler ICT Company, its second European takeover this year. The transaction forms part of a wider $70m (€60m) expansion plan, under which Paladin is seeking to build out its waste electronics processing capabilities and geographic presence. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
"This acquisition strengthens our ability to support customers in Dublin – widely considered the EU’s 'data centre capital' – and across Ireland, with consistent execution and certified outcomes, while expanding our on-site shredding and secure handling capabilities in-region," said Paladin CEO Brian Diesselhorst. He stressed ICT's track record in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), "built on doing the work in-house, maintaining chain-of-custody control, and meeting the highest standards for secure data destruction."
ICT's CEO Eva Warren stressed the importance of a "security-first mindset" and said that together with Paladin, the company was "building a model where organizations don’t have to choose between security, compliance, and sustainability – we can deliver all three, at scale, across Ireland, the UK and Europe."
Founded in Dublin in 2003 and operated as a family business until its sale, ICT Company is currently based in Duleek in County Meath, around 50 km north of the Irish capital. In the past year, the company had processed over 2,000 short tons of waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE) and had securely shredded over half a million data-bearing devices, according to Paladin.
The Irish recycler offers mobile, on-site data destruction via a purpose-built shredding vehicle, as well as a range of other related services, including IT asset remarketing, certified destruction, electronics recycling, data centre decommissioning, secure logistics, and ESG reporting.
The new parent company said that ICT had been the first ITAD provider in Ireland to be certified under the R2v3 (Responsible Recycling) standard. Following the acquisition, the business is expected to rebrand and be relocated to relocate to a new processing facility Paladin has leased in Dublin.
The US company entered the European market earlier this year through the purchase of R&L Recycling B.V. in the Netherlands. That takeover was intended to create a platform for further regional expansion.
Paladin Envirotech was founded in summer 2025 by US financial investor SER Capital Partners and South Korean recycling company Daeheung M&T, which, according to SER, acquired a minority stake. Shortly after its formation, Paladin took over the Tampa, Florida-based e-scrap recycler TechSmart International (TSI) along with Integrated Recycling Technologies (IRT), which is headquartered in St Cloud, Minnesota. The company says it has made five acquisitions since its founding nine months ago.
