British water utility and waste management company Pennon Group plc raised its revenue to £1,159m for the year ended 31 March 2011, an increase of 8.4 per cent compared to the previous year. Although the operating profit of the company dropped by 2 per cent to £261m, the company profit before tax climbed 1.5 per cent totalling £188.5m, according to the preliminary results announced on 24 May 2011. Pennon Group plc owns Viridor, a waste management business, and water utility company South West Water plc.
