Petrochemicals group MOL to become major player in Hungarian waste sector

In Hungary, the management of municipal waste will be virtually privatised as of July 2023. Hungarian oil and gas company MOL will replace the state as the main player and is to help the government to develop a circular economy and increase the share of waste recycled. A few weeks ago, the company won a government tender for a 35-year concession to manage the waste from 4.5 million households and almost 1.8 million companies across the country.
