The international joint venture Xycle is planning to build a chemical recycling plant to process mixed plastic waste using pyrolysis in the port of Rotterdam. With an annual capacity of 20,000 tonnes, the facility is to turn plastic waste into pyrolysis oil that will be used as feedstock in steam crackers.
