International recycling group Sims Metal Management benefited from higher scrap volumes, prices and margins in its fiscal year 2010/11 ended 30 June. Shipments increased 10 per cent, while annual revenue rose 18 per cent to AUD8.853bn (ca. €6.436bn), according to the results announced on Friday. The group's net profit after tax grew by more than half, rising from AUD127m in the previous year to AUD192m (€140m) in fiscal 2010/11.
