The waste management operations of environmental services group Suez Environnement in Western Europe recorded an increase in turnover by 2 per cent to €6.542bn. Rising revenues in the concern’s home market France and in the UK/Scandinavia region compensated for declining sales in the Germany/Benelux region, according to the 2012 annual results announced on Thursday.
Results of the division, which includes the Sita group, were negatively affected by a decline in waste volumes and by “decreasing and volatile” secondary raw materials prices, Suez Environnement reported.
