Sonae Arauco aims to incorporate up to 20 per cent of recycled MDF fibres into new panels.

Wood-based panels manufacturer Sonae Arauco has commissioned a fibreboard recycling line at its site in Mangualde, Portugal. According to technology supplier Andritz, this is the world’s first industrial-scale facility of its kind. The line enables the recovery of fibres from end-of-life MDF boards for the production of new medium-density and high-density fibreboard (MDF and HDF).
