Stora Enso and Tetra Pak are studying the feasibility of a beverage carton recycling project in the Benelux countries. Initially, they envision processing around 50,000 tonnes of waste cartons per year at Stora Enso’s Langerbrugge paper mill near Ghent, Belgium.
The fibres recovered from the beverage cartons would take place in Langerbrugge, while Tetra Pak would organise the recycling of the recovered polymer and aluminium materials, with the processing to carried outby a dedicated partner, Stora Enso announced.
