Suez has finalised the repurchase of most of its former hazardous waste activities in France from Veolia for an enterprise value of €690m on 30 November. These operations had been acquired by Veolia as part of its takeover of rival Suez but had to be divested again as a condition of the European Commission’s merger clearance. Now they are being acquired by the “new Suez”, which consists of activitiescarved out of its predecessor immediately following the merger and sold on to a consoritum of financial investors....
