The French environmental services provider Suez entered into several new partnerships in May. At the end of the month, it also deepened an existing partnership by investing the North American company Airex Energy, with whom Suez is developing a biochar production plant in Canada.
Early in May, Suez announced new partnership agreements with three Chinese companies that were signed during a state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to France. These partnerships focus on battery recycling, waste-to-energy (wte) and sewage sludge incineration.
Last year, the French environmental services company delivered double-digit growth in its revenues and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda). This growth is almost entirely rooted in first-time consolidation effects associated with the buyback of Suez's former waste management operations in the UK (Recycling & Recovery or R&R UK) and hazardous waste activities in France (Industrial Waste Specialties or IWS) from its competitor Veolia....
